Career[edit]

Fridman's career began at Google, working on machine learning.[11]

In 2015, Fridman started as a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His work at MIT involves research into human-centered artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicle research, deep learning, and personal robotics.[11]

In 2017, Fridman worked with engineers on computer vision, deep learning, and planning algorithms for semi-autonomous vehicles.[12]

Research[edit]

Fridman publishes regularly, and his work has been cited over 2,000 times. According to Google Scholars, Fridman's h-index is 22.[13]

Podcasts[edit]

The Lex Fridman Podcast[edit]

The Lex Fridman Podcast (originally titled The Artificial Intelligence Podcast)[16] started in 2018[17], and discusses "AI, science, technology, history, philosophy and the nature of intelligence, consciousness, love, and power", unlike his previous show which was intended to be "more general and personal".[18]

Past guests include Elon Musk, Avi Loeb, Joe Rogan, Dan Carlin, Michio Kaku, David Fravor, Roger Penrose, Richard Dawkins, Jack Dorsey, Stephen Wolfram and Andrew Huberman.[19]

Fridman's third interview[20] with Elon Musk garnered media interest in Musk's various opinions on space exploration and cryptocurrency.[21][22][23]
