Rand is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California.[1]
It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 4.25 miles (6.8 km) north-northwest of Randsburg,[2] at an elevation of 2,690 feet (820 m) in the Mojave Desert.[1]
Rand was part of the Randsburg and Johannesburg, California mining operations.
