Piute (also, Pah-ute, Pahute, and Paiute) is a former settlement in Kern County, California.[1] It was located 5.25 miles (8.4 km) north-northeast of Loraine (then called Paris),[2] at an elevation of 5016 feet (1529 m).[1]
A post office operated at Piute from 1875 to 1876 and from 1894 to 1918.[2]
