Gosford is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California.[1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Bakersfield,[2] at an elevation of 364 feet (111 m).[1]
Gosford was founded by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1893 and named in honor of the Earl of Gosford, a former landowner.[2]
