Xiklab Digital is a Philippine digital marketing and advertising agency based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The agency was formed and publicly launched in July 2019, as a result of a merger of two previously established Philippine advertising firms, namely Snapworx Digital, Inc. and Mobext Inc.[1] This transaction thus led to the consolidation of the companies' marketing clientele roster, which includes Toyota Motor Philippines, Ritemed, Pharex, The Bistro Group, Bonifacio Global City, Acer, Lawson Philippines, Parkway Hospitals, and Logitech.[2][3][4][5] The company is currently an Asia-Pacific partner of Worldwide Partners, a marketing and advertising network of over 70 agencies spanning 40 countries.[6]

History[edit]

2002–2019: Snapworx Digital, Inc.[edit]

Snapworx Inc. was a Philippine advertising agency established in December 2002. The group initially revolved around providing digital marketing services focusing on mobile marketing. Their marketing clientele included brands such as Logitech, Motortrade,San Miguel Pure Foods, ASUS, Alabang Country Club, Italianni's, Isuzu, Kohler, Magnolia, Crown Asia, Dole, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and Starbucks.[7]

2012–2019: Mobext Philippines Inc.[edit]

Mobext Philippines Inc. was a mobile marketing agency established in 2012 under a joint venture with Havas Group Espana.[8] Under this joint venture, the agency was able to work with a clientele list that included CIMB Bank, Red Bull, Mcdonald's, Starbucks, Acer, and Under Armour.[9] Arthur Policarpio headed the group as CEO of Mobext Philippines, and has worked with marketing clientele such as Coca-Cola, DBS Bank, as well as McDonald's.[10]

2019–present: Xiklab Digital Inc.[edit]

In June 2019, Snapworx was able to acquire all of Havas Group Management Espana SL's shares in Mobext Philippines, resulting in them subsequently absorbing all of the company's outstanding shares. This transaction eventually led the company to decide to rebrand the agency under a new name.[11]

Subsequently, Xiklab Digital was formed and officially launched in July 2019, as a merger of the two previously larger Philippine advertising companies, namely Snapworx Digital, Inc. and Mobext. Inc.[1] The name Xiklab was inspired by the Filipino expression 'siklab', which translates to 'spark' in English and denotes 'fire'.[10] The merger consequently led to the accumulation of employees, as well the consolidation of both companies' marketing clientele list, which involves the likes of Toyota Motor Philippines, Ritemed, Pharex, The Bistro Group, Bonifacio Global City, Acer, Lawson Philippines, and Logitech.[2][3][4]

By January 2020, Xiklab Digital began expanding their operations towards neighboring countries Singapore and Myanmar. The company has been managing the marketing campaigns for Parkway Hospitals as well as Ricola International.[5] Xiklab's marketing operations in Myanmar fall under the name Hello Xiklab Yingon (HXY), which is a joint venture along with the Myanmar Golden Star Group (MGS Group), a local conglomerate that is involved in businesses such as beverages, media, real estate, banking and microfinance.[8][12]

Xiklab Digital is currently an Asia-Pacific partner of Worldwide Partners, a global marketing and advertising network of over 70 agencies spanning 40 countries.[6]

Content[edit]

In June 2020, Xiklab Digital launched a campaign called Zoom In On Art, a public relations initiative to help users destress during online video conference calls. The main focus of the campaign was to organize a digital art gallery filled with original downloadable Zoom backgrounds created by participating Filipino artists.[13] A month-long Zoom in On Art digital art contest followed shortly in July 2020, where 150 digital artworks were submitted and added to the digital gallery. Filipino freelance artist Karl Adrian So was announced as first ever Zoom In On Art digital art contest winner in August 2020.[14][15][16]
