Transformers '84 is initially an American comic book one-shot issue written by Simon Furman, drawn by Guido Guidi and published by IDW Publishing. Based on the Transformers franchise by Hasbro, the issue is meant to be a prequel to both the continuity established in the original comic book by Marvel Comics, and the other continuity established in the alternate comic book by Marvel UK.[1]
The issue is followed by a limited series titled Transformers '84: Secrets & Lies.[2]
Plot
Autobot Punch is infiltrated as Decepticon Counterpunch, under Optimus Prime's orders, to find out more about Megatron's agenda, but not everything is what it appears to be.[1][2]
Publication history
In 2019, IDW Publishing released Transformers '84, a one-shot comic book issue written by veteran Transformers writer and co-creator Simon Furman, and drawn by artist Guido Guidi. It is a prequel to the original comic book series published by Marvel Comics.[1]
The issue is followed by a limited series titled Transformers '84: Secrets & Lies, with Furman and Guidi returning.[2][3]
