Transformers: BotBots
Transformers: BotBots is a toyline and transmedia series that is part of the Transformers media franchise by Hasbro announced in February 2018.[1]
Toyline
The toyline structure is evocative of ranges such as Shopkins; each character is blind-packed in blister cards with opaque plastic bubbles, with special value packs containing multiple BotBots and a single random blind-packed character. The BotBots themselves are roughly 1-inch tall, and transform very simply into mundane objects with super-deformed proportions in both modes. Each character is a part of a tribe related to a certain product market, with each series containing a tribe with randomly themed BotBots. 5 waves of product were released by 2021, and a sixth series is set for a 2023 debut to tie in with the Netflix series.

In late 2020, the BotBots toyline was announced to be receiving a Netflix-original animated series. It is set to be the first comedy series in the Transformers franchise, and follows the adventures of the titular BotBots as they try to hide from the mall's security guard after he discovers them following their creation.
Promotional images for the series debuted in early February 2022, while a trailer for the series debuted later that month. The show debuted on March 25, 2022. Like the War for Cybertron Trilogy animated series, BotBots is a Netflix exclusive.
Characters
Main
- James Hartnett as Burgertron, the self-proclaimed leader of his quintet of Lost Bots. Burgertron is egotistical and constantly thinks of himself as a superhero-type character, despite his shortcomings. He was a former member of the Hunger Hubs and was rejected after he and Dimlit got caught by Dave. A large portion of Season 1 revolves around him trying to get reaccepted. He transforms into a hamburger.
- Deven Mack as:
- Dimlit, a member of Burgertron's Lost Bot quintet. Dimlit is shy, nervous, and very reserved, though he always pulls through when it counts. Much like Clogstopper, he is typically short on intellect. He transforms into a flashlight.
- Sprinkleberry D'uhnut, a member of the Sugar Shocks. He typically stands around and is typically seen usually only saying "BotBots". He transforms into a donut with sprinkles.
- Dinger, a member of the Jock Squad. He is both brash and bold. He transforms into a baseball.
- Frostferatu, a member of the Sugar Shocks. He believes he has hypnotism powers and transforms into a cupcake.
- Christian Potenza as Clogstopper, a member of Burgertron's Lost Bot quintet. Clogstopper is idiotic and awkward, and is prone to making very poor decisions. Additionally, he is very relaxed compared to the others. He transforms into a plunger.
- Louisa Zhu as Bonz-Eye, a member of Burgertron's Lost Bot quintet. Bonz-Eye is very bold, but far more level-headed than her compatriots. She is an expert swordsman, and transforms into a potted bonsai tree.
- Lisa Norton as Kikmee, a member of Burgertron's Lost Bot quintet. Kikmee is the most energetic and excitable of the group, and is comparatively hyperactive. She transforms into a soccer ball. Kikmee was a member of the Playroom Posse in the actual toyline, following her original planned release for the range. Her gender was also changed, with her original toy bio using male pronouns.
- Mark Little as Dave, an incompetent blonde man who works at the mall as the security guard. He (as with all other humans in the series) is known to the BotBots as the "flesh being", and constantly seeks to capture the BotBots after he discovers them.
Supporting
- Joseph Motiki as Spud Muffin, a member of the Hunger Hubs. Spud actively sought to get rid of Burgertron on a permanent basis, and sabotaged the Lost Bots several times, before being exposed for his crimes and exiled to the Dark Side of the Mall at the end of Season 1. He transforms into a box of french fries.
- Josette Jorge as:
- Ulf the Orange, a member of the Hunger Hubs. Ulf was the love interest of both Burgertron and Spud Muffin, and constantly shot down the former until Spud Muffin was exposed and exiled in the Season 1 finale, finally understanding his motives. She transforms into an orange flavored juicebox, and is based on a BotBot in the sixth wave of toys.
- Game Over, a member of the Gamer Geeks. Game Over is one of the technology specialists amongst her squad, and she is one of the BotBots who covers up the tracks of their fellow beings. Game Over was characterized as male in the original toyline, and transforms into a game controller.
- Cory Doran as Fomo, a member of the Gamer Geeks. Fomo is one of the technology specialists amongst his squad, and he provides live footage through his lenses and a series of drones. Fomo was characterized as female in the original toyline, and transforms into a camera.
- Julie Lemieux as:
- Lady Macaron, a member of the Sugar Shocks. Macaron is known for being aristocratic, but is nice deep down if not a little rebellious. She transforms into a macaron, and unlike most of the other BotBots, is not based on any of the toys.
- Jacqueline, an unknown BotBot who transforms into a mannequin head. She is Dimlit's love interest, and like Lady Macaron is not based on a known toy.
