LitecoinZ is a cryptocurrency which provides privacy for its users with support for shielded addresses. Payments may be spent from a shielded address to an unshielded address and vice versa or between two shielded address. Z-addresses use Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledges (zk-SNARKs) to keep transactions private. These proofs provide evidence of ownership without revealing which units are owned.[1]
History[edit]
LitecoinZ genesis block was laid on 9th December 2017. The code is based on Zcash which itself is based on Bitcoin plus many backport from Bitcoin. LitecoinZ does not share any transaction history with Zcash or any other crypto currency. As such, it was a completely new crypto currency at it's inception.
LitecoinZ payments are published on a public blockchain. Like Bitcoin, the addresses of the sender and recipient of transparent payments can be publicly viewed on the blockchain. Z address transactions may not be decoded on the blockchain unless you have a private key or viewing key. LitecoinZ has a fixed total supply of 84 milion coins which is 4 times bigger than Bitcoin.
Miners are currently awarded with 50 new LTZ per block, an amount which gets halved roughly every 4 years (every 840,000 blocks) like in Bitcoin.
LitecoinZ is also the first cryptocurrency project, deriving from a Zcash fork, in which public keys, private keys and genesis block were generated from scratch. To complete the hard work of the developers, LitecoinZ is the first project of the "Z" family with a working and updated wallet for Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems, with a native graphic interface.
