This is a timeline of the War in Donbass for June 2019. The timeline follows an ongoing conflict between Ukraine and anti-government pro-Russian separatists supported by Russian troops[1] in the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine.

1 June[edit]
The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 10 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[2] (including on 8 occasions in Donetsk region and on 2 occasions in Luhansk region[3]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[3][4] By noon of 1 June no ceasefire violations were registered.[3] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at that two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the Donbass region on the last day of May.[3][4] Pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city recorded 15 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in nine locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank guided missiles, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[5] Sources from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic recorded two Ukrainian violations of the truce, when Ukrainian forces from Krymske opened fire with automatic grenade launchers and 82 mm mortars at Ukrainian positions around Sentianivka.[6]
The press-centre of the JFO reported in the evening that by 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 3 occasions; no casualties were reported by the Ukrainian side.[7] By the end of the day total 15 ceasefire violations were registered, one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded. In the eastern front, pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles and 122 mm self-propelled artillery engaged Ukrainian redoubts at Novoselivka. Pisky came under 82 mm mortar fire, while Krasnohorivka, Vodiane and Pishchevyk received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles. Small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers were fired at Pavlopil on two different occasions. Ukrainian positions at Avdiivka were hit by small arms fire and anti-tank rockets. Ukrainian troops at Verkhnyotoretske and Opytne were harassed by small arms and heavy machine gun fire. No incidents were reported in the northern area of operations.[8] A series of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire were recorded by pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city. Pro-Russian positions at Vasilyevka, Dokuchaievsk, Spartak, Trudivske, Volvo Center and Yasynuvata, around Donetsk city, Verkhnyotoretske, in the area of Horlivka, and Uzhivka, in the region of Mariupol, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, Volvo Center, Vasilyevka and Verkhnyotoretske were hit by 120 mm mortar barrages, while Uzhivka and Trudivske came under 82 mm mortar fire. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka engaged pro-Russian redoubts at Yasynuvata. A residential building was damaged at Uzhivka, where a civilian resident was wounded.[9]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 15 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[8] — all that occurred in Donetsk region;[10] the fire was returned on several occasions.[10] By noon of 2 June two ceasefire violations were registered (at Hnutove and at Novgorodske), with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[10] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in the Donbass region on the first day of June.[10] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 11 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in nine locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, rocket propelled grenades, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[11] According to local authorities, the Ukrainian military broke the ceasefire three times within the borders of the self-styled Luhansk People's Republic. The Ukrainian military employed anti-tank rocket launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless guns and 120 mm mortars to shell pro-Russian positions at Kalynivka, Obozne and Donetskyi.[12]
The press-centre of the JFO reported in the evening no further ceasefire violations besides those two that were reported in the morning.[13] By the end of the day total 5 ceasefire violations were registered, with no casualties on the Ukrainian side. In the eastern front, 82 mm mortar rounds landed in Marinka and Pisky; Marinka was also fired at from under-barrel grenade launchers and anti-tank rocket launchers. Ukrainian positions at Hnutove were hit by small arms fire and anti-tank rockets. In the northern front, pro-Russian forces used infantry weapons, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles and 82 mm mortars to pound Ukrainian redoubts at Novhorodske, while Mayorsk received fire from small arms and anti-tank rocket launchers.[14][15][16] A number of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire were recorded by pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city. Pro-Russian positions at Mineralne, Dokuchaievsk, Trudivske, Krasnyi Partizan, Volvo Center and Donetsk airport, around Donetsk city, Izotove and 6/7 mining complex, in the area of Horlivka, and Pikuzy, in the region of Mariupol, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, Izotove was hit by 73 mm anti-tank rounds and 82 mm mortar volleys. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka, Berezove and Talakivka engaged pro-Russian redoubts at Mineralne, Dokuchaievsk and Pikuzy.[17] Pro-Russian authorities later reported that an anti-tank guided missile had been launched from Verkhnyotoretske at a pro-Russian checkpoint near Krasnyi Partizan.[18]

The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 5 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[15][14] (including on 3 occasions in Donetsk region and on 2 occasions in Luhansk region[19]); the fire was returned several occasions.[19] By noon of 3 June three ceasefire violations were registered.[19] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence reported at noon no casualties in the Donbass region on 2 June.[19] Pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city recorded 13 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in seven locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[20] No ceasefire violations were reported within the borders of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic by local sources.[21]
According to the information provided by the press-centre of the JFO in the evening, from 00:01 am to 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 8 occasions.[22][23] By the end of the day total 13 ceasefire violations were registered; no casualties were reported by the Ukrainian side. In the eastern front, Novoselivka was targeted by 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars and anti-tank guided missiles. Verkhnyotoretske and Avdiivka were shelled with 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars and 120 mm mortars. Kamianka was hit by anti-tank guided missiles, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns and 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, while Pisky became the target of small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers. Vodiane received fire from automatic grenade launchers. Ukrainian positions at Novotroitske were hit by small arms fire and 73 mm anti-tank rounds. In the northern theatre of operations, pro-Russian forces from Molodezhne exchanged fire with Ukrainian troops at Popasna. The rebels used small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, anti-tank rocket launchers and 120 mm mortars. Ukrainian armoured fighting vehicles returned fire, supported by infantry weapons. Pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles from Kalynove launched and attack on Ukrainian positions at Novozvanivka supported by 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles and 82 mm mortars.[24][25] Separatist authorities at Donetsk city recorded a series of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire during the day. Mineralne, Yasynuvata, Vasilyevka, Kruta Balka, Mykhailivka, Trudivske, Zhabicheve, Volvo Center and Spartak, in the surroundings of Donetsk city, and Izotove, in the area of Horlivka, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, 120 mm mortar rounds fired from Ukrainian positions landed in Yasynuvata and Vasilyevka, while 82 mm mortars were fired at Spartak, Izotove, Vasilyevka and Mykhailivka. BMP-1 and BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka launched a sustained attack on pro-Russian positions at Spartak. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Pisky, Avdiivka and Kamianka engaged pro-Russian forces at Zhabicheve, Mineralne and Yasynuvata. ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns opened intense fire on Kruta Balka. Yasynuvata and Volvo Center were hit by 73 mm anti-tank rounds. The water purification plant at Yasynuvata and the pumping station at Vasilyevka became the target of 120 mm mortars. Works to restore power supply were suspended at Spartak when the area received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[26]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 13 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[24] (including on eleven occasions in Donetsk and twice in Luhansk region[27]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[27] By noon of 4 June two ceasefire violations were registered.[27] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence reported at noon no casualties in the Donbass region on 3 June.[27] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 23 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in 11 locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[28] According to local authorities, the Ukrainian military broke the ceasefire six times within the borders of the self-styled Luhansk People's Republic. The Ukrainian military employed small arms, automatic grenade launchers, anti-tank rocket launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars to attack pro-Russian positions at Kalynove, Sentianivka, Novooleksandrivka and Holubovske.[29]
The press-centre of the JFO reported in the evening that by 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 3 occasions, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman as a result.[30] By the end of the day total 16 ceasefire violations were registered, total number of Ukrainian casualties had risen to two killed and three wounded. In the eastern area of operations, a GAZ 66 truck was hit by an anti-tank guided missile near Novoselivka, killing two soldiers and wounded another. The Ukrainian stronghold of Avdiivka was meanwhile shelled with 120 mm mortars. The Ukrainian defenders returned fire twice. Pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles engaged Ukrainian redoubts at Talakivka, supported by small arms and automatic grenade launchers. Opytne, Pisky, Chermalyk, Pavlopil and Vodiane received fire from infantry weapons and automatic grenade launchers. In the northern front, Novoluhanske became the target of small arms and automatic grenade launchers, while Ukrainian troops at Krymske were harassed by small arms and heavy machine gun fire. Sniper fire was reported at Zolote and small arms fire at Stanytsia Luhanska.[31][32] A series of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire was reported by pro-Russian sources at Donetsk city. Vasilyevka, Dokuchaievsk, Oktyabrsky, Yasynuvata, Belaya Kamianka, Staromykhailivka, Mineralne, Spartak, Donetsk airport and Volvo Center, in the outskirts of Donetsk city, Zaitseve and Dolomitne, in the area of Horlivka, and, in the region of Mariupol, Novoshyrokivske and Nikolaevka, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, 120 mm mortar rounds landed in Dokuchaievsk, Zaitseve, Spartak, Dolomitne and Mineralne, while Dokuchaievsk, Oktyabrsky, Nikolaevka, Mineralne and Donetsk airport received 82 mm mortar fire. BMP-1 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka attacked pro-Russian redoubts at Spartak. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka also engaged pro-Russian positions at Spartak and Mineralne. Staromykhailivka and Novoshyrokivske received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[33] A mosque at Oktyabrsk was hit and damaged by 82 mm mortar rounds when worshippers were celebrating Uraz Bayram.[34]
5 June[edit]
The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 16 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[31] (including on 11 occasions in Donetsk region and on 5 occasions in Luhansk region[35]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[35] By noon of 5 June five ceasefire violations were registered, one Ukrainian soldier was killed as a result.[35] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence reported at noon that two Ukrainian servicemen were killed and another three were wounded in the Donbass region on 4 June.[35][36] Pro-Russian sources at Donetsk city recorded 29 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in 15 locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[37] One pro-Russian soldier was killed in action and another was wounded.[38] No ceasefire violations were reported within the borders of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic by pro-Russian sources.[39]
According to the information provided by the press-centre of the JFO in the evening, no further ceasefire violations were registered by 6:00 pm.[40] By the end of the day total 12 ceasefire violations were registered, one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded. In the eastern front, pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles launched a 50-minute attack on Vodiane supported by small arms and 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles. Nearby Talakivka was hit by anti-tank rockets, while Novotroitske, Pyshchevyk and Bohdanivka received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles and infantry weapons. Ukrainian troops at Novohryhorivka were harassed with heavy machine gun fire. In the northern sector of operations, Krymske and Novo Aidar became the target of small arms, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles and 82 mm mortars. Small arms and sniper fire was reported at Zolote.[41][42] A number of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire were recorded by pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city. Pro-Russian positions at Mineralne, Spartak and Zhabicheve, around Donetsk city, and, in the area of Horlivka, Gagarin mining complex and Dolomitne, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, 82 mm mortars landed in the area of Dolomitne and Gagarin mining complex, while BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka and Yuzhne launched an attack on pro-Russian redoubts at Spartak and Gagarin. Pro-Russian forces at Mineralne received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[43]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 12 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[41][44] (including on 8 occasions in Donetsk and on 4 occasions in Luhansk region[45]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[45] By noon of 6 June three ceasefire violations were registered, with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[45] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and another Ukrainian soldier was wounded in the Donbass region on 5 June.[45] Pro-Russian sources at Donetsk city recorded eight Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in six locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[46] A single violation of the truce was reported by pro-Russian officials from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, when Ukrainian forces opened fire at Stary Aidar with infantry weapons and automatic grenade launchers.[47]

Opytne also became the target of 120 mm mortars. Ukrainian troops returned fire with the same kind of weapons. In the northern front, Ukrainian positions at Mayorsk were hit by small arms fire and anti-tank rockets.[49][50] Separatist authorities at Donetsk city recorded a number of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire during the day. Yasynuvata, Kruta Balka, Signalne, Luhanske, Spartak and Donetsk airport, in the surroundings of Donetsk city, Holubovske, Dolomitne, Gagarin and 6/7 mining complexes, in the area of Horlivka, and Pikuzy, in the region of Mariupol, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, 82 mm and 120 mm mortar rounds fired from Ukrainian positions in Mayorsk landed in 6/7 mining complex, while Signalne received fire from anti-aircraft guns and 120 mm mortars. Ukrainian forces at Avdiivka opened fire on Yasynuvata with anti-aircraft artillery and 82 mm mortars. Kruta Balka and Donetsk airport were also hit by 82 mm mortar rounds. Residential areas of Holubovske came under fire from automatic grenade launchers.[51] Pro-Russian forces around Horlivka claimed that an infiltration attempt by Ukrainian infantry was beaten off with the loss of two Ukrainian soldiers.[52] Five civilian residences were damaged at Yasynuvata.[53]
7 June[edit]
The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 16 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[49] (including on 11 occasions in Donetsk region and on 5 occasions in Luhansk region[54]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[54][55] By noon of 7 June nine ceasefire violations were registered — two Ukrainian servicemen were killed, four were wounded, and four were injured at Novoluhanske in the early hours of 7 June.[54][56] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the Donbass region on 6 June.[54][55] Pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city recorded 19 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in ten locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars and anti-aircraft guns.[57] A total of 118 violations of the truce were reported over the past week in the same briefing. Ukrainian forces attacked 19 settlements and fired 13 rounds from 122 mm artillery, 315 from 82 mm and 120 mm mortars and three anti-tank guided missiles on the same period.[58] Pro-Russian sources from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic reported two Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire within the borders of the republic. The Ukrainian military fired two rounds from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles at Vesela Hora and ten grenades from automatic grenade launchers on separatist positions at Holubovske.[59]
According to the information provided by the press-centre of the JFO in the evening, from 00:01 am to 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 12 occasions — the total number of disclosed Ukrainian casualties had risen to 2 Ukrainian servicemen killed, 4 wounded, and 7 combat related injuries by 6:00 pm.[60][61] By the end of the day total 28 ceasefire violations were registered, one more Ukrainian soldier was wounded. In the eastern area of operations, 152 mm self-propelled guns from Panteleymonivka, supported by 82 mm mortars, engaged Ukrainian redoubts at Novoselivka and Novooleksandrivka. Marinka was hit by 82 mm mortar fire. Pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles attacked Vodiane, while Pavlopil, Hnutove, Novohryhorivka, Nikolaevka and Avdiivka received fire from small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and anti-tank rocket launchers. In the northern front, Novoluhnanske came under a fierce attack from pro-Russian positions at Kalininske using infantry weapons, grenade launchers, 120 mm mortars and 122 mm self-propelled artillery. Pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles opened fire on Ukrainian forces at Travneve. Krymske was meanwhile shelled with 82 mm mortars. Infantry weapons were fired at Zaitseve, and small arms were used to harass Ukrainian troops at Stanytsia Luhanska.[62][63] A number of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire were recorded by pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city. Pro-Russian positions at Staromykhailivka, Dokuchaievsk, Trudivske, Spartak, Volvo Center, Vasilyevka and Zhabicheve, around Donetsk city, Verkhnyotoretske, Gagarin mining complex and Shyroka Balka, in the area of Horlivka, and, in the region of Mariupol, Sakhanka and Zaichenko, came under attack. In the main incidents, Dokuchaievsk and Vasilyevka were hit by the combined fire of 82 mm and 120 mm mortars; 120 mm mortar rounds also landed in Trudivske. Verkhnyotoretske was shelled with 82 mm mortars. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Vodiane attacked pro-Russian redoubts at Zaichenko. Pro-Russian forces at Shyroka Balka, Volvo Center, Zhabicheve and Trudivske received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[64] Power lines were knocked down at Vasilyevka, leaving the village without electrical supply.[65] A Ukrainian drone was shot down over Holmivsky.[66]
8 June[edit]
According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 28 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[62] (including on 21 occasions in Donetsk region and on 7 occasions in Luhansk region[67]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[67] By noon of 8 June four ceasefire violations were registered, one Ukrainian soldier was injured.[67][68] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that two Ukrainian servicemen were killed, five were wounded, and seven were injured in the Donbass region on 7 June.[67][68] Pro-Russian sources at Donetsk city recorded 17 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in nine locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-tank guided missiles, armoured personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles and 122 mm self-propelled artillery.[69] According to local authorities, two violations of the ceasefire were reported in the territory of the self-styled Luhansk People's Republic. Ukrainian forces fired rocket propelled grenades at pro-Russian positions near Nyzhne Lozove. Pro-Russian troops at Knyaz Igor memorial received fire from under-barrel grenade launchers.[70]

In the eastern front, pro-Russian tanks from Sakhanka launched a substantial attack on Ukrainian redoubts at Vodiane, supported by 122 mm self-propelled artillery. Lebedinske was also hit by 122 mm artillery barrages. Novoselivka and Opytne received fire from heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 82 mm mortars and 120 mm mortars. Ukrainian troops at Marinka, Krasnogorivka, Bohdanivka, Starohnativka, Novotroitske, Shyrokyne and Pavlopil were harassed with small arms and heavy machine gun fire. In the northern theatre of operations, pro-Russian forces shelled Yuzhne, Travneve and Zolote with 120 mm mortars. Ukrainian troops at Krymske, Vilny and Luhanske received fire from infantry weapons. The Ukrainian military returned fire using infantry weapons and armoured fighting vehicles.[73][74] Separatist officials at Donetsk city recorded several Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire during the day. Dokuchaievsk, Mineralne, Staromykhailivka, Vasilyevka, Trudivske, Spartak and Donetsk airport, in the surroundings of Donetsk city, Zaitseve, Ozeryanivka, Mykhailivka, Holmivsky, Gagarin and 6/7 mining complexes, in the area of Horlivka, and, in the region of Mariupol, Sakhanka, Zaichenko, Pikuzy and Nova Tavriya came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, Ukrainian tanks from Vodiane engaged pro-Russian redoubts at Nova Tavriya, while 82 mm and 120 mm mortar rounds landed in Gagarin and Mykhailivka. Bayrak, Zaichenko, Ozeryanivka and Vasilyevka were shelled from 120 mm mortars. Sakhanka, Pikuzy, 6/7 mining complex, Holmivsky and Staromykhailivka came meanwhile under 82 mm mortar fire. The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 30 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[136] (including on 23 occasions in Donetsk region and on 7 occasions in Luhansk region[139]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[139] By noon of 17 June ten ceasefire violations were registered, with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[139] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the Donbass region on 16 June.[139] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 18 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in 11 locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles and 122 mm self-propelled artillery.[140] Local officials reported that Ukrainian forces broke the truce twice within the boundaries of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic when BMP-1 armoured vehicles and 82 mm mortars from Krymske opened fire on pro-Russian positions at Sentianivka and Smile.[141]

A residential building and a petrol station were damaged at Krasnoarmyisk, while a parking lot and a lumberyard were set on fire at Yasne.[153] A pro-Russian checkpoint at Krasnyi Partizan came under fire from a T-12 anti-tank gun, while BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka opened fire on pro-Russian positions around Donetsk airport.[154]

The Ukrainian military employed 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars and anti-tank guided missiles to attack pro-Russian troops at Kalynove and Molodezhne.[157]

Damage was reported on 24 civilian residences and other facilities; A pro-Russian soldier was killed and two others wounded in action. The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 44 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[198] (including on 33 occasions in Donetsk region and on 11 occasions in Luhansk region[201]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[201] By noon of 25 June three ceasefire violations were registered — two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded and another two were injured.[201] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded and another two were injured in the Donbass region on 24 June.[201] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 15 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in eight locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, rocket propelled grenades, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[202] Local sources reported that the Ukrainian military broke the truce two times within the boundaries of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic. Ukrainian forces from Krymske used 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles and 82 mm mortars to attack pro-Russian positions at Sentianivka.[203]
According to the information provided by the press-centre of the JFO in the evening, from 00:01 am to 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 11 occasions, another Ukrainian soldier was wounded.[204] By the end of the day total 32 ceasefire violations were registered, the total number of Ukrainian casualties per day amounted to five wounded and two injured servicemen. In the eastern front, Avdiivka was hit by anti-tank guided missiles. The town also received fire from automatic grenade launchers, anti-tank grenade launchers and 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles. Opytne became the target of 82 mm and 120 mm mortars. Marinka was shelled with automatic grenade launchers and 120 mm mortars. Vodiane and Lebedinske received fire from small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers. Ukrainian positions at Novotroitske were hit by heavy machine gun fire, automatically-launched grenades and anti-tank rockets. Nevelske and Bohdanivka came under heavy machine gun fire. Infantry weapons were fired at Shyrokyne and Talakivka. In the northern area of operations, pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles attacked Krymske supported by fire from infantry weapons, anti-tank rocketsand 120 mm mortar fire. Yuzhne and Novoluhanske were shelled with 82 mm mortars. Shumy, Maysk, Yuzhne and Novoluhanske received fire from small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers.[205][206] A series of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire was reported by separatist authorities at Donetsk city by evening. Spartak, Trudivske, Oleksandrivka, Vasilyevka, Dokuchaievsk, Donetsk airport and Vesele, all of them in the surroundings of Donetsk city, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, Spartak was hit by the combined shelling of 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars and 120 mm mortars. Trudivske and Dokuchaievsk came under 120 mm mortar fire; 82 mm mortar volleys landed meanwhile in Trudivske, Oleksandrivka and Donetsk airport. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka and Novotroitske engaged pro-Russian positions at Spartak and Dokuchaievsk, while BTR armoured personnel carriers from the Ukrainian stronghold of Muraveynik launched a sustained attack on pro-Russian positions at Vesele, supported by infantry weapons. Oleksandrivka received fire from ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns. Vasilyevka and Donetsk airport were struck by 73 mm anti-tank rounds.[207] A female civilian was wounded by shrapnel at Trudivske.[208]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 32 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[205][206] (including on 19 occasions in Donetsk region and on 13 occasions in Luhansk region[205]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[209] By noon of 26 June fifteen ceasefire violations were registered; no casualties were reported by the Ukrainian side.[209] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that five Ukrainian servicemen were wounded and another two were injured in the Donbass region on 25 June.[209] Pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city reported 21 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in eight locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, snipers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 20 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[210] A single ceasefire violation was recorded by local officials within the boundaries of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, when Ukrainian forces from Krymske opened fire on pro-Russian positions at Sentianivka with 82 mm mortars.[211]
The press-centre of the JFO reported in the evening that by 6:00 pm pro-Russian military had opened fire on positions of Ukrainian troops on 21 occasions, employing 122 mm artillery and 120/82 mm mortars on 12 occasions in Donetsk and on 9 occasions in Luhansk region; no casualties were reported by the Ukrainian side.[212] By the end of the day total 39 ceasefire violations were registered, four Ukrainian servicemen were wounded, three were injured. In the eastern front, Pavlopil was shelled with 122 mm self-propelled artillery. Kamianka received the combined fire of 82 mm and 120 mm mortars. Avdiivka and Opytne were hit by 120 mm mortar barrages, while Novoselivka and Marinka came under 82 mm mortar fire. Pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles engaged Ukrainian positions at Novoselivka. Shyrokyne, Starohnativka, Bohdanivka, Vodiane, Pisky, Talakivka and Krasnohorivka became the target of small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, anti-tank rocket launchers and 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles. In the northern sector of operations, pro-Russian armoured fighting vehicles launched an attacked on Krymske supported by the combined fire of 82 mm and 120 mm mortars. Novoluhanske, Pivdenne and Zaitseve became the target of 82 mm mortars. Luhanske, Novoluhanske, Hladosove, Katerinivka and Travneve received fire from infantry weapons and grenade launchers.[213][214] Separatist authorities at Donetsk city reported a series of Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire. Pro-Russian positions at Yasynuvata, Spartak, Donetsk airport, Krasnyi Partizan, and Trudivske, in the outskirts of Donetsk city, Zaitseve, in the area of Horlivka, and, in the region of Mariupol, Sakhanka and Pikuzy, came under hostile fire. In the main incidents, the area of Donetsk airport was struck by the combined fire of 82 mm and 120 mm mortars. Trudivske, Vasilyevka and Pikuzy were hit by 120 mm mortar barrages; Spartak, Vasilyevka, Oleksandrivka, Zaitseve and Sakhanka came under 82 mm mortar fire. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Avdiivka engaged pro-Russian redoubts at Yasynuvata. Krasnyi Partizan and Pikuzy received fire from ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns. Two civilian residences were set on fire at Zaitseve,[215] and another three damaged at Pikuzy. A civilian resident was wounded by shrapnel at Trudivske.[216]
OSCE monitors confirmed the beginning of the withdrawal of Ukrainian and pro-Russian troops and equipment from the area around Stanytsia Luhanska, Luhansk Oblast, in order to establish a disengagement zone agreed between the parties at Minsk.[217]

The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 39 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[213][214] (including on 24 occasions in Donetsk and on 15 occasions in Luhansk region[213]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[218] By noon of 27 June twelve ceasefire violations were registered; one Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result.[218] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that four Ukrainian servicemen were wounded and another three were injured in the Donbass region on 27 June.[218] Pro-Russian authorities at Donetsk city recorded 20 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in ten locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles.[216] In the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, local officials reported four Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire. The Ukrainian military used small arms, automatic grenade launchers and BMP-1 fighting vehicles to attack pro-Russian positions at Zolote, Lohvynove, Kalynove-Borshchevate and Nyzhnie Lozove.[219]

In the main incidents, 122 mm self-propelled artillery shelled Dolomitne. Trudivske and Dolomitne Spartak was hit by the combined shelling of 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars and 120 mm mortars. Vasilyevka, Oleksandrivka, Sakhanka, Uzhivka, Zhabicheve and Donetsk airport came under 120 mm mortar fire; 82 mm mortar volleys landed meanwhile in Dzerzhinske and Pikuzy. BMP-1 armoured vehicles from Opytne and Lomakine engaged pro-Russian redoubts at Spartak and Dzerzhinske. BMP-2 armoured vehicles from Vodiane and Novotroitske opened intense fire on pro-Russian positions at Uzhivka and Dokuchaievsk. Vasilyevka and Shyroka Balka received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[224] Four civilian buildings were damaged in Oleksandrivka and the water pumping station at Vasilyevka came under hostile fire.[225]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 34 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[221][222][223] (including on 16 occasions in Donetsk region and on 18 occasions in Luhansk region[221]); the fire was returned on several occasions.[226] By noon of 28 June nine ceasefire violations were registered; with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[226] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded and another two were injured in the Donbass region on 27 June.[226] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 33 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in 15 locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, rocket propelled grenades, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, armoured personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles and 122 mm self-propelled artillery.[225] Local sources reported that the Ukrainian military broke the truce two times within the boundaries of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic. BMP-1 armoured vehicles from Luhanske engaged pro-Russian forces at Kalynivka, while Lozove became the target of 82 mm mortars.[227]

Mineralne, Yasynuvata, Vasilyevka, Kruta Balka, Trudivske, Zhabicheve, Volvo Center and Spartak, in the surroundings of Donetsk city, Dolomitne, Gagarin mining complex and Shyroka Balka, in the area of Horlivka, and, in the region of Mariupol, Sakhanka, Uzhivka and Pikuzy were attacked by Ukrainian forces. In the main incidents, Dolomitne and Uzhivka were shelled by 122 mm self-propelled artillery. Tanks from Avdiivka launched an attack at early morning on pro-Russian redoubts at Mineralne. Some hours later, also from Avdiivka, an anti-tank guided missile was launched at Ukrainian forces around Yasynuvata, supported by a single tank shot. Several areas came under heavy 120 mm mortar fire, among them Zhabicheve, Volvo Center, Sakhanka, Uzhivka, Pikuzy, Kruta Balka and Gagarin, while 82 mm mortars were fired at Spartak, Uzhivka, Volvo Center and Sakhanka. BMP-1 armoured vehicles from Shyrokyne opened fire on pro-Russian positions at Sakhanka. ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns opened intense fire on Spartak and Donetsk airport. Shyroka Balka received intense fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles. The water pumping station at Vasilyevka came under attack for the second consecutive day, this time from infantry weapons and automatic grenade launchers.[231] A social service center was damaged in the missile attack on Yasynuvata.[232]

The spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters reported in the morning, that pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 32 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[229][230] (including on 13 occasions in Donetsk region and on 19 occasions in Luhansk region[229]); the fire was returned on 19 occasions.[233] By noon of 29 June seven ceasefire violations were registered, with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[233] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence reported at noon no casualties in the Donbass region on 28 June.[233] Pro-Russian officials at Donetsk city recorded 28 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire in 15 locations using small arms, heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, rocket propelled grenades, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank guided missiles, armoured personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles, tanks and 122 mm self-propelled artillery.[234] Sources from the self-styled Luhansk People's Republic reported no ceasefire violations on this date.[235]

Izotove was attacked by pro-Russian forces using infantry weapons, 82 mm mortars and BMP-1 armoured vehicles. Volvo Center received fire from ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns. A civilian residence was damaged at Izotove, and another was set on fire at Zaitseve. The water pumping station at Vasilyevka came once again under hostile fire.[238]

According to the information provided by the spokesman of the Ukrainian operational headquarters in the morning, pro-Russian troops had opened fire on 31 occasions on Ukrainian positions the previous day[237] (including on 18 occasions in Donetsk region and on 13 occasions in Luhansk region[237]); the fire was returned on 14 occasions.[239] By noon of 30 June eight ceasefire violations were registered, with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.[239] The spokesman of the Ministry of Defence confirmed at noon that one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded and another soldier was injured in the Donbass region on 29 June.[239] Pro-Russian sources at Donetsk city recorded 28 Ukrainian violations of the ceasefire 16 locations using small arms, 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles, 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, armoured personnel carriers, armoured fighting vehicles and 122 mm self-propelled artillery.[240] Local officials reported that the Ukrainian military broke the truce three times within the boundaries of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic. Most incidents involved heavy shelling from 82 mm and 120 mm mortars; 120 mm mortar barrages landed in Trudivske, Vesele, Zhabicheve, Dokuchaievsk, Mykhailivka and Spartak, while Oleksandrivka, Zaichenko, Sakhanka, Trudivske, 6/7 mining complex and Donetsk airport received 82 mm mortar fire. Volvo Center, Oleksandrivka and Vesele received fire from 73 mm anti-tank recoilless rifles.[245]
OSCE monitors verified the completion of the retreat of military forces from the surroundings of Stasnytsia Luhanska.[217]
